About Us
According to the statistics from the Nations Children’s Association (NCA) 6,791 children were served at advocacy centers in Arizona during the 2014 year. Of these children, 67% were victims of sexual abuse which has increased by 3% from 2012.
In the state of Arizona, there are many organizations focused on providing resources, raising awareness, assisting victims, and providing for the welfare and treatment for victims and their families of sexual abuse and exploitation. With the support of Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Prevent Child Abuse Arizona a collaborative effort was made to build a coalition of partners and organizations that are dedicated to promoting prevention, education, and community awareness to eliminate sexual abuse and exploitation; and in October 2013 the Arizona Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention Coalition was founded.
The Coalition, of over 35 organizations, is committed to ending the violence that affects their communities, families and children. The Coalition is represented by a multitude of partners throughout the valley including local city government representatives, law enforcement agencies, Homeland Security, behavioral health, welfare, and treatment facilities, child advocacy centers, faith-based organizations, human-trafficking groups.
